Assistant County Attorney

LYON COUNTY ATTORNEY - is seeking an Assistant County Attorney. This is an exempt position with starting wage based upon previous job experience.  This position represents the State of Kansas in court at all hearings regarding criminal cases; prosecuting juvenile, traffic, misdemeanor and felony cases as assigned. This position will require a willingness to relocate to Lyon County or an near-by county. This position is to start immediately.

Qualifications:

• Must have a degree from an accredited school of law. Must be licensed to practice law in the State of Kansas.
• Must have the ability to receive, interpret and follow verbal and written instructions. Required to read, write and speak English fluently.
• Extensive problem solving exists in this position. Requires the ability to evaluate alternatives to resolve disputes. Must have the ability to interpret applicable statutes, regulations and policies and take appropriate action.
• Must be able to pass drug screen, physical, background check, work screen and other testing.
