Assistant County Attorney

The Bourbon County Attorney’s Office is seeking a full-time Assistant County Attorney for the Fort Scott, Kansas office.  The individual will be responsible for matters pertaining to criminal (misdemeanor and felony), Child In Need of Care and Juvenile Offender.  The new Assistant will work closely with an experienced prosecutor in developing and refining their trial skills. 

Bourbon County, with its population of approximately 15K, is located in Southeast Kansas.

REQUIREMENTS: Currently licensed to practice law in the State of Kansas or have graduated from an accredited law school and awaiting the Kansas bar examination.  Must be able to maintain confidentiality and work under pressure with significant time restraints.

Salary range $89,000-$105,000 dependent upon experience.
